CHANGES..?

Okay, so The Stereo State Blog has not been its usual self over the past month or so, restricted posting to no posting at all some days has left the blog itself limited in information. This brings me onto the next point of the closing of The Stereo State Blog, however its not all bad news, one thing comes to a close and another comes to an open.

Over the last few weeks designs have been drawn to change the whole The Stereo State Co. experience, with much focus on the internet experience. Therefore The Stereo State Co. will officially be opening a customised and very personal website, that will offer a lot more than a WordPress website which restricts material use. Work on the plans and designs will begin after New Years and will hopefully be ready sometime January 2010 as well as readying an online store for the Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

But perhaps the biggest change to the brand/company will be the brand name and logo changing, that would mean The Stereo State Co. will no longer be in use. Times are changing this side of the computer, only for the good I will add. Look out for information after New Years.

We will be back bigger and better, …. that’s a promise.

MELLOW MONDAY

That day of the week again, all of you waking up early for work, misty eyed, tired, stressed about work deadlines or missing the early train, never mind, life is to short for such irrelevant worries. Take a step back and relax with a help in hand from a refreshing dose of chilled music. This weeks ‘Mellow Monday’ track will most recently be recognised from the trailer of the cult children’s book; “Where The Wild Things Are”, if you ever wondered what song it was now you know: Arcade Fire brings you ‘Wake Up’

JOHNNY CUPCAKES WINTER

By now you should have realised that the whether has taken a turn for the worst, those degrees have gone down a few numbers and the heat has been replaced by a nice chill. This means one thing for all the clothing brands; winter collections. Johnny Cupcakes is no different, and his new collection off tees brings the heat just like every collection before. Strong tee graphics remains the core as usual, as well as some nice new clothing ventures just to keep things fresh.

IS IT A WALL, IS IT SOMETHING ARTY, NOPE IT’S A DOOR!

Caught this over at the BBC blog, this is by far the single most amazing door I have ever seen. Literally the laws of gravity and all of that look to stop this acting as a door, but more of an art piece. Either way I want to open and close that door once, just a problem with the plane ride to India and locating the private house! Oh well.

THAT’S DEDICATION FOR YA’

So like most days I found myself browsing through my favourite blogs (the only ones really worth reading). Everything was all well as usual amongst the streetwear heads until I came across the most recent The Hundreds post. If any of you are familiar with the ‘Black Friday’ sale that is going on (coincides with America’s Thanksgiving) right now then this video will make perfects sense.

What amazes me most about this video is the dedication and uppermost respect that this single man has for The Hundreds, a true sign of how customers reflect the brand which only pays testament to the hard work the brand has put in since their first line over five years ago.

Anyway the video is definitely an act off a true die-hard fan who may just look back on this scene of crazy and think ‘Ah-man did I really do that’!

BACK AGAIN – “MELLOW MONDAY”

Okay, so for the last time apologies for the absence of posts over the last week or so, but The Stereo State Co. is back as normal from here on out. Plus, the return nicely coincides with “Mellow Monday” and for this weeks track we thought we would post up a couple of songs from 30 Seconds To Mars highly anticipated third studio album – ‘This Is War’.

After the mass success of their second studio album: ‘A Beautiful Lie’ it has no doubt left the band knocking at the door amongst some of the greats, a big statement I know, but after their last studio album can you really question such a statement. Anyway this weeks tracks are ‘This Is War’ and ‘Kings & Queens’.

Sorry for the complete lack of posts lately, troubles this end of the web are still stalling the progress of the blog. Hopefully posts will resume within the next couple of days. However, it is not all bad as with my time off from working on blog entries, I have made some progress in changing The Stereo State Co. experience for those reading. These changes will be put into motion some time after the new year, all working in accordance with the Spring/Summer 2010 collection. So keep watching folks, the ball is well and truly rolling!

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES

Having some problems this end of the line, will be sorted by the middle of next week. Stay tuned as blogging will presume next week, with a few changes making way some time after Christmas break, January/February time.

Haven’t spoken to much about The Stereo State Co. as a whole due to the fact that I have focused on running a more online magazine style blog, but as I said before changes will soon be made (after xmas) that will change the whole T.S.S.C experience!

IN4MATION X CROOKS & CASTLES

Seen this tee circulating around a couple of blogs, I can see the reason why and so I thought I would post the tee up myself. The tee is a collaboration between highly respected streetwear brands; In4mation and powerhouse Crooks & Castles.

The brands called upon Saviour Sanquiche, a well-respected designer who has worked with a handful of other successful labels. The graphic is a hand-illustrated twist off Crooks & Castles signature ‘Medusa’ print, bringing a colourful and dynamic print as well as bringing originality and authenticity to the mix.

The tee is now available through In4mation retail stores.

MELLOW MONDAY

Gees, I’m writing this post at 5:30 in the morning, trying to work eating my cereal, getting ready for work and updating my blog-as to not seem slacking on my duties-all into one. As today is Monday it not only means another work week, but another ‘Mellow Monday’, which this week is as much for myself as you readers.

So, this weeks track (that I will personally be plugging into my iPod Touch en-route to work via the over-populated and disease infested train) is ’1234′ bought to you by Canadian-American singer-songwriter Leslie Feist a.k.a ‘Fesit’.

BENNY GOLD DOUGHBOYS

Hope everyone had and enjoyed a great Halloween, this period induced posts and updates being cut in regularity, but they will resume as normal from this point forward.

On another note, my favourite freelance graphic designer-Benny Gold-is now ready to drop another three colour ways of his vastly popular New Era ‘Doughboy’ caps, with first releases coming at the Hall Of Fame flagship store. The ‘Doughboy’ caps feature an old Victorian style B on the front panels, with his trademark paper plane pattern on the underside of the peek.

Benny Gold Fall/Winter 2009 Collection Preview

Benny Gold is set to release his latest self-entitled clothing collection in the next coming weeks for the Fall/Winter seasons. Mr. Gold has seeked huge success in recent years as a freelance graphic designer, in the process helping big brands such as HUF and MASH (but for two examples) reach greater success through clever and appealing logo designs and apparel graphics.

The latest Benny Gold season will no doubt ‘hit a home run’ with customers and Benny Gold faithful’s alike, especially when he is set to release yet another tee collaboration with San Francisco based Rebel Eight.

Once the collection has been released I will be back with a post covering the whole collection and details on where to grab a bit of ‘Gold’!

XLARGE X DISNEY

XLarge have once again teamed up with corporate animation giant Disney to bring together a great offering of tees and denim. The collaboration brings together matching tees and denim, with the tees available in two colour ways (White and Black).

The tees feature the XLARGE guerilla logo on the front and Disney’s global iconic figure of Mickey Mouse on the back. Continuing the theme into their denim selection, the back pockets feature parallel Mickey Mouse hands, which rounds off a well crafted and flawless selection of apparel for the XLARGE 2009 Fall/Winter Collection.

The XLARGE X Disney tees and denim will be released on October 31st.

Kidrobot London Store Opening?

Kidrobot, the world’s premier creator of limited edition art toys and apparel, is finally venturing across the pond. Which can only be good news for UK customers as they no longer need to pay heavy Postage & Packaging fees to receive a product.

The store will be made public in November, with a Grand Opening celebration being held on Thursday November 19 from 6-8pm.
